FAQs
The vast majority of our courses are delivered entirely online, with all lessons, seminars and one-to-ones with your tutor taking place via video call.
Where you see "in-person" mentioned on a course, this usually refers to your assessor visiting your place of work, which is sometimes required for assessment. If a course requires an in-person training day, this will be clearly stated on the course page, and we'll let you know early on where it will be held. Currently, none of our qualifications require this — only our apprenticeships do.
Every course has a guided learning time and an estimated total study duration. If you're able to move through tasks more quickly — including practical assessments and observations — you may be able to complete your course in less time than the guide suggests.
Yes. As soon as you enrol, you're assigned a dedicated tutor who'll be in touch to introduce themselves and answer any initial questions. They're available throughout your course to support you with assignments, practical assessments and work placements.
This is what makes training with Venture Education unique to other training providers. Our tutors are on hand throughout the week to connect with when needed.
For some of our courses, you'll need to complete a number of hours — study, observation or practical work — in a school environment, whether classroom-based or PE-related.
In most cases, you'll need an expert witness at your school to observe you; this is typically the class teacher you're assisting. They should hold relevant QTS certification and be willing to mentor, observe, and provide feedback to your tutor and assessor at Venture Training & Education.
Your course fee covers everything you need, with no hidden extras such as assessment or certification fees.
For courses requiring an in-person visit, if a second visit is needed because the required standard wasn't met first time, a re-assessment fee of £120 applies.
An apprenticeship is a paid job that combines hands-on work experience with structured learning. Alongside your on-the-job training, you'll spend at least 20% of your working hours on classroom-based learning with Venture Training & Education Ltd, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
To start an apprenticeship, you'll need an employer willing to take you on — typically a school or Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), where you'll complete your on-the-job training. If a school or MAT is interested in hiring an apprentice, their designated lead should get in touch with us directly to discuss training aligned with our apprenticeship standards and qualifications.
If you are a School, LA or MAT and would like to hire and train an apprentice, do get in touch at enquires@ventureeducation.co.uk
Apprenticeships are fully funded through two methods: either via a levy-paying employer or through the non-levy funding route.
The apprenticeship levy is paid by large employers. Every employer who pays the levy has a digital account where they can access their levy funds to spend on apprenticeship training.
Smaller employers (Non-Levy) – those with a total annual pay bill of less than £3 million – pay just 5% of the cost of their apprenticeship training and the Government pays the rest.
Yes. All our qualifications are Ofqual-regulated and sit within the Regulated Qualifications Framework. They're delivered in partnership with external awarding bodies such as 1st4Sport Qualifications and Training Qualifications UK, who issue your final certificate.
Although very similar, qualifications vary from apprenticeships slightly.
Although we recommend work placements for all of our qualifications, they are achieved by completing designated tasks and assignments to achieve the associated level.
Apprenticeships require 80% of time given to work placements and completion of the standard not only requires the completion of tasks and assignments but also an End Point Assessment (EPA) from an external verifier. End-point assessment (EPA) is the final stage of an apprenticeship. It is an impartial assessment of whether your apprentice has developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard.
As well as successfully completing the EPA, an apprentice may need to complete, and pass, several additional requirements before completion of the apprenticeship. This might include mandatory English and maths qualifications.
