To start the course you will need a work placement where you can complete your hours of teaching, coaching and observation. This may be a primary school, secondary school or company that is working schools delivery physical education. We recommend you speak to your primary school, or coaching company as they wish to place you on the course and contribute to the cost. With this you should have an up to date DBS. Other than that, you will need a computer to access the online learning, Wi-Fi connection and access to a tripod and recording camera. We ask that you use a professional camera to record sessions for submission and not a mobile phone.

This qualification is not currently eligible for external funding. However, schools may choose to support or cover the cost as part of staff development. If you are self-funding, our team can discuss flexible payment plan options to help spread the cost in a way that suits your budget.

A workplace mentor is someone in your school or workplace who is their to support and verify your training in the workplace. From time to time, our tutors will connect with your workplace mentor to see how you are getting on.

Although very similar, qualifications vary from apprenticeships slightly.

Although we recommend work placements for all of our qualifications, they are achieved by completing designated tasks and assignments to achieve the associated level.

Apprenticeships require 80% of time given to work placements and completion of the standard not only requires the completion of tasks and assignments but also an End Point Assessment (EPA) from an external verifier. End-point assessment (EPA) is the final stage of an apprenticeship. It is an impartial assessment of whether your apprentice has developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard.

As well as successfully completing the EPA, an apprentice may need to complete, and pass, several additional requirements before completion of the apprenticeship. This might include mandatory English and maths qualifications.

Each of our qualifications have certain prerequisites to allow you to join the course. Please contact us to ask what these are.

For the Level 3 Qualifications and apprenticeships – Level 2/GCSEs may be required.

The Level 4 Sports Coach is an advanced coaching apprenticeship and interested candidates must be in a leadership role where they are responsible for a wider team. As a minimum we would expect candidates applying for this to have numerous years independent coaching experience and to hold relevant coaching qualifications (level 2 minimum). All the above criteria must be met to be considered for the apprenticeship.

The vast majority of our courses are delivered entirely online, with all lessons, seminars and one-to-ones with your tutor taking place via video call.

Where you see "in-person" mentioned on a course, this usually refers to your assessor visiting your place of work, which is sometimes required for assessment. If a course requires an in-person training day, this will be clearly stated on the course page, and we'll let you know early on where it will be held. Currently, none of our qualifications require this — only our apprenticeships do.

Every course has a guided learning time and an estimated total study duration. If you're able to move through tasks more quickly — including practical assessments and observations — you may be able to complete your course in less time than the guide suggests.

Yes. As soon as you enrol, you're assigned a dedicated tutor who'll be in touch to introduce themselves and answer any initial questions. They're available throughout your course to support you with assignments, practical assessments and work placements.

Your course fee covers everything you need, with no hidden extras such as assessment or certification fees.

For courses requiring an in-person visit, if a second visit is needed because the required standard wasn't met first time, a re-assessment fee of £120 applies.

You can cancel your course within 14 days of enrolling, provided no assignments have been marked yet.

Yes. We handle this manually — just email your organisation's details, any purchase order number we'll need to quote on the invoice, your own details, and the course you'd like to take to enquires@ventureeducation.co.uk.

Simply log in to our Student Portal via the link at the top of our website. Forgotten your password? You can reset it anytime. If you're having trouble logging in, email your tutor and they'll help you get back in.

We aim to grade work within 5–7 days, though this can vary slightly during busier assessment periods. If you've been waiting longer, just reach out to your tutor.

You submit your work through the portal. If further work is needed, you'll receive a "Refer" status with feedback. Once your work meets the required standard, your tutor will mark it as complete and sign it off in the portal.

Yes. All our qualifications are Ofqual-regulated and sit within the Regulated Qualifications Framework. They're delivered in partnership with external awarding bodies such as 1st4Sport Qualifications and Training Qualifications UK, who issue your final certificate.

Most courses have a 12–18 month completion window. For Level 3 Diplomas and above, this may extend to 24 months.
